The Gold Mine opened in August 2011, Eric saw an increase in “Cash for Gold” stores and when he realized that they were paying only 20% of the value he knew he could do way better. His best friend since Kindergarten, Michael, just got out of the military and was looking for a job and Eric said lets go into this business together and we will right this injustice. We decided to do the opposite of all the other “Cash for Gold” stores and pay the majority out to customers and while we will make less in the beginning word of mouth will increase our business, and that is exactly what happened. We even had an article written up about us on how out of all the cash for gold stores this reporter visited, we not only showed her the process to test the gold, we paid the highest. After that article came out, business took off. After several years Mike wanted to try his hand at being a realtor. He got his licence in 2017 and his success just took off. He became one of the fastest growing realtors in the branch. His success got him recognition with Weichert and then Keller Williams where he is today. Mike was so busy with real estate that he didn’t have time for The Gold Mine so Eric bought him out. Eric now runs The Gold Mine, but he and Mike are still best of friends to this day.
